Beauty to the Sadness

This record went through many, many different phases of re-writing and re-structuring, and I played around with a handful of concepts until I got to a short and sweet eight songs. I pushed myself out of my comfort zone a bit to see if I can blend together my classical piano training, my experience producing electronic dance music, and actually try to write an album about myself.
The song after the opener, “Stop Acting Like You Know Me,” is my mission statement and the biggest step I’ve taken as an artist. “I don’t gotta prove that I’m a human to be worth respect” is a line that has become increasingly poignant in the past few years, and one I very much take to heart. Aesthetically, it’s like if Post Malone made a cloud rap song about his gender. The lush synth arps, thick 808s, and impassioned vocal performance all work together to create a pillow-soft first impression.
I did get one thing right on this album: I am a butterfly with beautiful wings, and I will take flight.
